nothing realist, this anime is all about epic fight and strong character, of course people cant swing spear like a machine, and cut horse and man in half with a great dao, etc...
but you can notice, even if random soldiers are random, its not an overpowered beat them all for good guys, they always find ennemy general and lieutnant with special skill and storyline. tha tmake the battle more entertaining, espcially when even the good guy can be killed anytime like in any good war anime

The spear swinging indeed is exaggerated. But, I think he really did take down 500 soldiers on his own. And yes, not overpowered that you can't beat them.

She just had to survive until her brother came back in order to fulfil their life goal, but instead she willingly decided to leave him, depriving him of his one motivation in life. Truly, a sad story.

That wife-killer's character design was scary though, I loved it. It would've been so awesome if him killing her were scary too. And for those people who don't understand such stuff, I'm obviously not saying that I liked what he did; her death annoyed me too.
